Found an old Yashica lens with a sticky aperture, fixed with lighter fluid and patience
Picked up a 50mm f/1.7 from a flea market for $15 last Sunday. Blades were slow and stuck at f/2.8. Took it apart, cleaned each blade with a q-tip dipped in lighter fluid, let it dry, and put it back together. Took about 2 hours and my hands smell like a barbecue. It clicks through every stop smooth now. Has anyone else had luck with lighter fluid on older leaf shutters, or am I just asking for a bigger mess down the road?
