Spent 8 hours chasing a light leak on a Pentax K1000

Turns out it was the mirror bumper foam crumbling, not the door seals. Has anyone else had a fix that took way longer than it should have because you overlooked something obvious?

All that fuss over a little foam, is it really that big of a deal?

wait, so dumping hundreds of gallons of chemical foam into a river isn't a big deal? @hill.barbara how would you feel if that was your town's water supply? it messes up fish and wildlife for way longer than people think, plus those chemicals don't just magically disappear. it's not like a little soap suds from doing dishes, it's serious stuff that costs a ton to clean up.
