TIL from a retired Leica tech in Portland that I was cleaning sensors totally wrong
Guy took one look at my swabs and said 'you're just pushing dirt around'. Showed me this specific technique where you barely touch the surface and let capillary action do the work. Took me like 6 years of doing it the hard way. Now I'm not going through 3 swabs per sensor. Anyone else get schooled by an old timer on something basic?

80 year old Fred from the camera shop told me I was basically mopping a clean floor with a dirty rag. Turns out he was right, I've been using one swab per sensor for the past month and getting better results than my old three-swab routine. I guess my ego took a bigger hit than my sensor.
