Warning: skip the full teardown on a stuck aperture ring, lighter fluid got mine moving
Everyone on here says you have to pull the whole lens apart when an old aperture ring seizes up, and I almost did that on a beat up 50mm from a flea market in Toledo. Instead I put two tiny drops of lighter fluid right in the gap and worked the ring back and forth for maybe 5 minutes. It broke loose and clicked through every stop again, and I never touched the helicoid. I know some of you will say that stuff creeps into the glass or dries out the grease, but for a $15 lens it beat a 3 hour rebuild. What's your go to for a stuck ring when a full strip down feels like overkill?
