My $80 headlamp lost to a $15 one in the rain last weekend
Camped up near Lake Tahoe and it poured for like 6 hours straight on Saturday night. My fancy rechargeable headlamp started flickering and then just died after maybe 45 minutes of use. I dug out the cheap AAA one I keep as backup and it ran the whole rest of the trip without a single issue. The expensive one has all these modes and a battery meter but it can't handle a little moisture. Anyone else had a budget piece of gear beat out their premium purchase in bad weather? I'm thinking of just switching my main headlamp to something simpler.

Those rechargeable ones just aren't built like the old standby models anymore...
