Stuck in a storm with a failing rain fly

Last Friday, I was camping when a heavy rain hit. The seams on my rain fly started leaking after just an hour. Water came into the tent and wet all my gear. I had to pack up and leave in the dark. Check your rain fly before you go out.

Mother Nature gave your rain fly a free pressure test, and it failed spectacularly. Better luck next time, I guess.

Damn, that's rough. Had you tested the rain fly's waterproofing before heading out? Or was it a surprise failure?

Good question, @dakota160. Did you test the rain fly with a hose or just trust it? Surprise leaks can ruin a trip fast.
