TIL my sleeping pad had a slow leak for 6 months from a pine needle prick at Lost Maples State Park

I woke up on the ground in the middle of the night after a rainy hike there... patched it with seam grip and it's held fine since. Anyone else find mystery gear failures after a trip somewhere specific?

That pine needle prick is just life's way of reminding you that nothing good ever lasts without a little patch job.

Had a buddy who spent a whole weekend building this really nice little bench for his garden... woodworking was his thing, you know. He was so proud of it, stained it perfect, the whole nine yards. First time he sits on it to have his morning coffee, a little splinter jabs him right in the palm. He tried to just ignore it, but it got all swollen and infected and he had to dig it out with a needle. It was just this tiny little thing that ruined his whole vibe... he told me it was like the universe saying "nope, you can't have nice things without some kind of hassle.
