Took my 3-season bag to 20 degrees and paid for it

I trusted the temp rating on my old bag last month at Big Bend and froze all night. Borrowed a buddy's 0-degree quilt and the draft collar alone made the difference. Anyone else learn the hard way that ratings are a straight-up lie?

bro that exact same thing got me last spring in the sierras, i was shivering in my "20 degree" bag while my buddy in his cheap quilt was totally fine. the draft collar is honestly the whole game, once you get that gap sealed it's like a different sleep system. now i just add 15 degrees to whatever the tag says and call it a day.
