The yoga instructor who got canceled for a vaccine post still teaches at my gym
I walked into my usual Tuesday class last week and saw her name on the schedule, same as always. She lost about 40k followers online back in 2021 over that Instagram rant, but the studio never dropped her and the room was full. I'm curious if others have seen canceled people just keep operating in their own local scene, and if that changes how you feel about the whole thing.
40k followers sounds like a lot until you realize most of those are randos who never paid her a dime. The people in that room every Tuesday are the ones actually keeping her lights on, and they clearly dont care about a post from 3 years ago. I get that online canceled is a thing, but local scenes move slower and people are way more forgiving when they see you in person every week. Honestly, the internet loves a good outrage cycle but it rarely holds up against real life relationships. If the class is full and she's still doing her job, then that's about as canceled as it gets in the real world.
