Rant: Found out last week that most hiring managers ghost candidates after 2 rounds of interviews

I saw a stat from a recruiting survey that said nearly 60% of employers don't even bother to send a rejection email after the second round. Has anyone else just stopped hearing back and had to assume you didn't get it?

My cousin got ghosted after three rounds with a tech company in Austin last month. It took me a minute to realize this is just how things work now - not just with jobs but with everything from apartment applications to even some dentist offices I called. The whole world got real comfortable just not following up, and it feels like common decency went out the window somewhere around 2020. I see it in how people handle return calls, how vendors drop off after you ask a simple question, it's all the same lack of follow-through.
