The 30-minute rule that fixed my job applications
I was sending out resumes for 6 weeks with almost no callbacks. Finally realized I was writing cover letters at night when I was tired and rushed. Started setting a timer for 30 minutes each morning, just for the first paragraph of the application. That paragraph is what gets read, so I put all my energy there. My response rate went from 1 in 20 to 1 in 6 over the next month. Turns out hiring managers care more about one clear story than a perfect full letter. Anyone else found a weird time or trick that changed their application luck?
