Took the steady paycheck over the dream and now I'm not sure

Last spring I had two offers: one was a stable warehouse supervisor gig in Phoenix at $22 an hour with full benefits, the other was a junior film editor spot for a small studio that paid $17 and had zero guarantee of hours. I picked the warehouse because rent was due and my truck needed tires, and honestly it's been fine, but I just saw the editor posting get filled by someone with less experience than me. It's been 8 months now and I keep wondering if I should have scraped by and taken the risk. Has anyone else made the safe pick and later wished they'd gone for the unstable one? I'm thinking about doing a portfolio course on weekends to see if I can still pivot.

Took the warehouse job myself years ago and kept doodling storyboards on my lunch breaks. The safe money bought me time to build a real portfolio without panic, and that ended up being the better move in the long run. Weekend course sounds smart, just don't quit the steady thing until you've got something solid to jump to.
