My portfolio was 30 pages of fluff, one recruiter's note changed all that
Back in March I sent my 30 page portfolio to a recruiter in Austin and she wrote back just three words: 'so what?' That stung. I had every project I ever touched in there. She meant I never said what I actually did or why it mattered. So I cut it down to 8 pages, each project has one line about the problem and one about the result, like 'cut processing time by 2 hours per week' or 'fixed a bug that cost us $400 a month'. Next interview, the guy spent 15 minutes on one page instead of skimming. Has anyone else gotten feedback that forced a full rebuild like that?
