Overheard a barista say she used to be a paralegal and it clicked for me

I was getting coffee yesterday and the person making my drink mentioned she left her law firm job six months ago. She said she felt like a 'square peg in a round hole' there. That phrase stuck with me because I've been feeling the same in my accounting role. It made me realize my unhappiness wasn't about the work itself, but the whole office culture. Has anyone else made a switch after a simple comment made things clear?

That shoulder tap idea is nice but I don't really buy it. Most of the time it's just random stuff happening. Like you find a ten dollar bill on the ground, that's not a sign, you just got lucky. Or you run into an old friend, that's just a coincidence, not the universe sending a message. We connect dots after the fact because it feels good, not because something is actually guiding us.
