Vent: I spent 5 years hunting for jobs that already matched my resume instead of just picking a direction
I'd been applying to 40 jobs a month since January, only sending resumes to roles that matched my old warehouse background word for word, and getting maybe two callbacks total. Last Tuesday a recruiter in Columbus named Dana asked me point blank why I kept aiming backward at jobs I'd already outgrown, and it hit me that I was chasing a perfect match instead of just picking a lane and building toward it. So how do you all pick a direction when nothing on paper lines up, do you just commit to something and learn on the job?
