Cheap finish nailer jammed mid-run and ate a $60 poplar board on the Millbrook job
Heads up for anyone running the bargain-brand 18ga nailer: mine jammed on the third nail and drove a half-shot fastener sideways straight through a poplar face I'd already sanded twice, right in front of the client at the Millbrook kitchen job on Tuesday. I pulled the nail with pliers, filled it, and lost about an hour and a half re-milling the piece from my last scrap. Swapped back to the old Bostitch for the rest of the run and it didn't miss once. Anyone got a jam fix for these cheap guns that actually holds, or do I just retire it to trim work I don't care about?
