Just wasted $120 on a 'universal' jig that couldn't handle a simple 3/4 inch dado.

Has anyone found a decent, affordable jig that actually works for cabinet joinery?

My old Kreg jig from 2015 is still perfect. Cost me maybe eighty bucks. That universal one you got sounds like a knockoff problem. Sometimes you just need the right tool for the job, not one that tries to do everything. A dedicated dado jig is way more solid for cabinet work anyway.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. My brother-in-law had a similar meltdown last year (he bought some all-in-one router guide that bent on the first cut). He ended up just making his own jig from scrap plywood, which honestly worked better than the thing he bought. It's crazy how often the simple fix is right in the shop.
