That $70 Japanese saw changed my trim work forever in Seattle
Bought a pull saw from a specialty shop in Seattle for $70 and it blew my mind. First cut on some baseboard trim was so clean I didnt even need sandpaper. Has anyone else switched from western saws to pull saws for finish work?

Happened to me last year with a kitchen knife actually. I spent thirty bucks on a decent Japanese chef knife and it made me realize how much I was fighting my old tools. Now I notice it everywhere - once you use something that's designed right, the cheap stuff feels like punishment. Pull saws are like that for trim work, once you feel that smooth cut you can't go back to fighting a western saw. Its like upgrading from a rusty shovel to one that actually slices through dirt.

Oh wow, your story with the kitchen knife is EXACTLY what I went through with my utility knife. I used to think a sharp blade was enough, then I spent a little extra on a proper handle that actually fit my hand and it changed everything for me. It really is one of those things where you don't know what you're missing until you experience the difference.
