Can we talk about how I spent 3 years stretching carpet wrong before a guy in Kansas City set me straight?
He watched me fight with a knee kicker for 10 minutes then handed me a power stretcher and said 'you're not installing carpet you're wrestling it' and now I won't touch a job without one so has anyone else had that humbling moment where a tool you ignored turned out to be the whole answer?

Ugh. So true. That's just the built-in stubbornness we all have. We think we know the right way and the simple tool feels like cheating or giving in. Then you realize you've been making everything harder out of pride. It's like trying to chop down a tree with a butter knife when a chainsaw is right there. We just gotta let go of that ego and take the help.

Yeah, that "you're not installing carpet you're wrestling it" line hit me hard because I used to think the knee kicker was the only way. Power stretcher seemed like overkill until I actually tried one and realized I had just been making extra work for myself.
