Just realized something about seam placement from a guy in Phoenix

I was finishing a big job in a Scottsdale condo last year, and the homeowner's dad was watching. He pointed at a seam I'd placed and said, 'You put that where the light from the slider won't hit it directly. Smart.' He was right, I always try to hide seams in lower light areas to make them less visible. It was cool that someone not in the trade actually noticed the detail. Do you guys have any other tricks for hiding seams in tricky rooms?

Heard about a buddy who had to carpet a weird L-shaped living room with a huge bay window. He actually ran the seam right along the inside corner of the L, following the wall line. Said it tricks the eye because the room shape change already draws your attention there, so the seam just looks like part of the architecture. Made total sense when I saw the pictures, the seam basically vanished. That's a solid trick for rooms that aren't just a simple box.

That's basically hiding seams with room geometry.
