My seam roller handle snapped clean off halfway through a big job in a new build over in Bayside.

It was a cheap one I'd had for a while, but the timing was awful. The carpet was down, glue was wet, and I had to finish that seam. Ended up using the butt end of my utility knife to press it down, which worked in a pinch but wasn't ideal. What's a solid, no-fail seam roller brand you guys swear by? I don't want a repeat of that.

Had a tenant try to fix their own vinyl plank with a rolling pin once. Left a weird pattern in the glue. Total mess. My maintenance guy swears by Roberts rollers for his repair jobs. Heavy duty, never seen one fail on him.

Ever think those heavy rollers were overkill for a DIY job? I used to grab whatever cheap roller was at the hardware store, figuring weight didn't matter much. Then I tried fixing a small section in my own place and the planks just wouldn't lock down flat, left little gaps. Seeing that rolling pin story, it clicked. You really do need the right tool to spread the glue evenly, no weird marks. Makes total sense now.
