Spent $18 on a vacuum gauge for my $1,200 beater and it paid for itself in a weekend
Picked up a 98 Corolla off a guy in Modesto for $1,200 that was running rough and stalling at stops. I grabbed an $18 vacuum gauge off Amazon and found a cracked intake hose in about 10 minutes, a $12 part. Before that I was ready to throw a $90 fuel pump at it and hope. Curious what cheap tool you guys reach for first when a beater runs like junk.
