Traded a $4,200 Taurus for a $1,800 Civic, now I wonder if I did it backwards

Back in 2019 I sold my old Ford Taurus with 180k miles for $4,200 and bought a beat-up 2002 Honda Civic in Tacoma for $1,800 because everyone swore those things run forever. The Civic needed a new clutch within six months and the AC never worked, but it has started every single morning since, even through two hard winters. Was the extra $2,400 really worth losing the Ford's comfortable seats and working heat, or did I just get lucky with one good Honda?
