Bought a $500 Miata with a blown motor, previous owner left a note saying 'good luck'

Drove 3 hours to Bakersfield to grab it, and when I popped the hood there was literally a handwritten note taped to the valve cover that just said 'good luck.' Took me 6 weeks and $1,800 in parts to get it running, but that first drive around the block at 11pm was worth every penny. Anyone else find weird stuff from previous owners when they finally dig into a project?
