Showerthought: I wasted 3 weekends chasing a vacuum leak on my $600 truck before my neighbor in Tucson pointed at the intake boot
I'd been spraying carb cleaner around the whole top end when the crack was right there on the underside of the boot, 2 inches from where I started. What's the dumbest thing you missed that one look from someone else caught in 10 seconds?

Ever notice how the problem is always hiding exactly where you didn't look? I spent a whole Saturday hunting a bad ground on my old beater, checked every wire in the engine bay twice, and my buddy walks up and points at the battery terminal that was loose the whole time. Two seconds, done. Meanwhile I'm standing there with my meter like a genius who just solved nothing. At least your neighbor saved you a fourth weekend, so consider that a win lol.
