Had to pay a security deposit in cash and it took 3 weeks to sort out
I moved into a new apartment in Phoenix last month and the landlord only accepts cash for security deposits. No checks, no cards, nothing electronic. I showed up with $1,200 in cash but they said they needed a receipt from a specific notary first. It took me three trips to different notaries before I found one that would witness a cash handoff properly. The whole process from signing to moving in took 19 days instead of the usual week. Has anyone else hit this kind of roadblock with a cash only landlord?

Oh man that's rough... we had a similar thing with our old landlord, ended up just paying with a postal money order and it cleared way faster than cash.
