My buddy Mike in Philly talked me into trying a cash-only month
I was always Team Card till last Friday. Mike told me how he saved $180 in one month by just feeling the cash leave his hand. He said when you swipe plastic you don't feel the loss the same way. I tried it this week and already skipped two coffee runs because I saw my wallet getting thin. Has anyone else found that cash makes you actually think before buying?

That thing about the wallet thinning out really stopped me cold is exactly right. I tried cash only last month and it cut my fast food spending by almost half. Seeing that pile of twenties shrink made me realize how many $9 lunches I was just swiping without a thought. By week three I was actually planning meals around what cash I had left, never did that with a card.

Read something about how people spend up to 83% more swiping cards versus paying cash. Mike's got a real point there, the wallet thinning out really stops you cold.
