My buddy told me cash-only would make me miss out on rewards, but he was dead wrong

My friend Mike kept pushing that cash back and points stuff, said I was leaving free money on the table by not using cards. He showed me his Amex statement from last month where he got like $47 back, acting like that was a big win. I told him I haven't paid a penny in interest or late fees in 3 years since going cash-only, and my budget actually stays put. Last week he texted me that he accidentally spent $600 on a new TV because the card made it feel fake, and now he's kicking himself. I just carry a wad of twenties from the credit union downtown and when it's gone, it's gone. No surprises, no statements to read through. Has anyone else had a friend try to sell you on rewards but you stuck to paper and came out ahead?

Seen too many people get burned by that fake money feeling.

Doesn't that depend on how you use it though? @ryanf66 I think the problem isn't the crypto itself but people who treat it like a quick lottery ticket instead of an investment. If you buy in and hold for years it's a different story than jumping in on a hype coin.
