My dad told me cash is a pain for emergencies and it got me thinking
Honestly, we were talking last week after my flat tire and I had to borrow $150 from him because my cash was at home. He said 'What if I wasn't here? A card is just safer for that stuff.' Ngl, it hit different because he's usually on my side about avoiding debt. So, is the safety net of a card worth breaking the cash-only rule for real emergencies?

Your dad has a point about being stranded. What's your actual emergency plan if your cash isn't on you? Do you have a separate card with a low limit you only touch for real problems?

My emergency plan is a twenty dollar bill taped inside my phone case. It's survived three phone upgrades and two washing machine incidents, so I guess it's pretty committed to the job.
