Took 45 minutes to buy a $6 tarp because the store's card reader was down

So I pull up to the hardware store in Tulsa last Tuesday, grab a tarp for a camping trip, and get to the register. The guy tells me their card system is offline and it's CASH ONLY for the next hour. I'm grinning like an idiot because this is MY moment, the cash life finally paying off. I hand him a ten and he just stares at me. Turns out they also had a coin shortage and couldn't make change for anything over a $5 bill. I had to run to my truck, dig through the center console, find three crumpled ones and a handful of quarters, and count out exact change on the counter. The line behind me was not amused. Has anyone else had a cash moment get awkward because of a change shortage?
