inTried a new rasp versus my old one on a tough quarter crack, the difference was night and day.
Saw my buddy grab a Nicholson from the hardware store last month. He said the teeth stayed sharp even after shaping a whole maple table leg. Made his old rasp look like it was just rubbing the wood, not cutting it. You still using that butter knife on pine or something harder?

inFinally got my character's eyes to look right after 50 tries
That "off-center reflection" point is interesting, but I've always felt the opposite. When the light hits just right in a real eye, it's not a trick, it's what makes them look alive to me.

inHot take: People still think a strong password is enough
My buddy Mark in Phoenix had his Instagram locked last month because he used the same password on a recipe blog that got popped. He lost years of pictures before he could get it back. That's the thing, a strong password is a good lock, but you can't use the same key for your house, your car, and your bank. Seeing that mess finally got him to use a password manager. Now he just remembers one phrase and it makes a crazy new password for every site.

Accountants are the real business coaches, huh.

inThe week my best friend forgot my birthday and I realized something
That "robot excuse" about the calendar alert really says it all. I read something once about how friendships don't usually end with a big fight, they just starve from a lack of small kindnesses. Forgetting a birthday is one thing, but it's the not making up for it that hurts. It's not calling the next day, or sending a card late, or even just saying how bad you feel. You're right, it's the small stuff that adds up until you realize you're the only one still trying.
