Whole beef prices flipped overnight in Portland

I've been buying from the same ranch for 6 years now, and back in March a whole beef was running about $3.20 a pound hanging weight. By last week the same guy quoted me $4.15, that's a 30% jump in 5 months. He said feed costs and drought culling are squeezing supply hard upstream. Has anyone else seen that kind of spike from their suppliers lately, or is this just a Pacific Northwest thing?
