I thought dried lentils were a waste of $1.29, then I made 6 dinners with one bag
I always walked past the dried lentils at Aldi because I figured the canned ones were faster and about the same price. Last month I finally bought a 1 lb bag for $1.29 just to prove myself wrong, and I got 6 full dinners out of it, about 21 cents a serving. I cook them in my rice cooker with onion, cumin, and a spoon of bouillon, and they come out soft every time with zero soaking. The bag sat in my pantry for 3 weeks before I touched it, so it is not like you have to plan ahead. What is your go to cheap dried thing that beat the canned version for you?
