I was buying rice in 1 pound bags for years and I feel dumb
Last month I was at the grocery store on 5th and Main and grabbed my usual 1 lb bag of rice for $2.49. The lady next to me had a 10 lb bag in her cart and I asked her how much it was. She said $6.99. I stood there doing the math in my head and realized I had been paying $25 for the same 10 lbs for like 3 years. I went home and counted my pantry and I had 4 little bags sitting there. Now I buy the big bag and put it in a $3 plastic bin from the dollar store. What else am I overpaying for because I never checked the unit price?
