TIL swiping the clearance meat at 7am beat my Sunday coupon run

Went to the Kroger on 5th in Dayton right when they opened and grabbed a pack of chicken thighs marked down to $2.40 because it was the sell-by date, which beat the $14 I spent couponing the week before. Does anyone know if the markdown times are the same at other stores, or does it just depend on the manager?
