The expo line guy who yelled "slow down" and actually saved my whole ticket flow

Last Saturday during a packed dinner service, I had this new kid on expo who kept screaming "slow down" at me every time I fired a ticket. I was so annoyed because I thought I was in a rhythm, but then I noticed my grill station had 4 tickets stacking up while my sauté guy was just standing there. The kid was right, I was firing too fast for the actual cook times, and my pass was turning into a mess of cold plates and rewrites. I slowed my fire pace by like 15 seconds per ticket and suddenly everything started landing hot and together. Now I actually ask my expo to call out pace instead of just confirming items, and it's cut my waste on remakes by a lot. Anyone else let a rookie tell them something obvious that they'd been missing for months?

My cousin's dog barks at the microwave every single time, total game changer for our snack game.

Read somewhere that dogs hear frequencies way higher than we do, so the microwave might be making a noise that sounds like a tiny alarm to them. Makes sense why they'd get weirded out every time it starts up. Your cousin's pup probably just thinks they're protecting the house from a plastic bowl invasion lol.
