Vent: Overheard a line cook say 'I don't use salt until the end' and I about lost it

Was helping a buddy out at his BBQ joint last Saturday, just covering a shift because his guy bailed. This kid, maybe 22, is telling the prep cook he doesn't salt meat until it's done cooking. Said it 'locks in the moisture' or something he saw on TikTok. I had to walk away before I said something rude. Salt draws out moisture sure, but you season early so it actually gets into the meat. Dude's been working there 6 months. Anyone else see cooks get bad advice online and then just run with it?

Agree completely, that TikTok salt myth drives me nuts. Had a kid at my old place who refused to season burgers until they hit the grill and wondered why they tasted like cardboard. These short videos spread bad info faster than experience does.
