Vent: My brand new rotary brush seized up after just 3 cleanings last Saturday
The motor started smoking halfway through a job in Springfield, so I had to finish with my old hand tools and now I'm wondering if I should buy another one or just stick with manual rods from now on, has anyone else had a power brush fail that fast?

Oh man, I gotta push back on this one a bit. Look, I get the frustration, a brush dying after three uses is total garbage, no argument there. But I feel like people jump to giving up on power tools way too fast because of one bad product. That specific brush might just be a lemon, you know? Every company puts out a dud sometimes, and the motor smoking like that sounds like a defect straight from the factory. I'd be hitting up the manufacturer for a warranty replacement or a refund before I swore off all powered brushes for good. Manual rods are reliable and they'll never smoke on you, that's true. But they also take way more time and elbow grease, and on bigger jobs that adds up to a lot of lost money in the long run. If you get a solid brush from a reputable brand, the speed is just unbeatable. One bad experience shouldn't make you ditch a whole category of tools that saves so much effort when it works right.

Aren't you basically saying "just get a good one" though? That's kind of a gamble.
