My 40 dollar vacuum sealer beats the 300 dollar one my buddy swore by
After 8 months of wasting $45 a week on wilting lettuce and slimy deli meat, I ran both machines side by side last Sunday with identical pork chops and the cheap one pulled a tighter seal every single time, so if you're on the fence about upgrading your fridge game, save your cash and ask me before you drop big money on fancy gear, has anyone else noticed brand markup does nothing for airtightness?

And that's the thing right there, the motor and the fancy digital display don't mean squat if the gasket and the heating strip aren't doing their job. I learned that after my second "premium" unit started leaving a gap on one corner and I had to double seal everything just to get it to hold. The cheap ones are usually simpler, fewer parts to mess up, and they just clamp down harder. I'd say stick with that one you got and put the saved cash into better bags, that's where the real difference is anyway.
