Showerthought: my sister's fridge in Cincinnati made me stop buying bulk spinach
I stayed with my sister in Cincinnati for 4 days last spring and watched her pull a bag of spinach from the crisper on day 3 that had turned into green slime in the corner. She said she buys the big tub every week because it is cheaper per ounce, then throws half of it out on Sunday nights. I did the math on her receipt and she was tossing about $6 every single week, which is more than the small bag would have cost her. Now I buy the small bag, use it all, and go back to the store if I need more. Curious what size greens everyone else buys, because I am still not sure if the small bag is actually the smart move or if I am just fooling myself.
