The moldy tupperware at my aunt's cabin reset my whole system
Last summer I opened her 1980s fridge up in Lake Placid and found a container of chili from like 2019, green on top. I spent 2 hours scrubbing every shelf and now I toss anything older than 5 days on sight. Has anyone else had one gross moment turn them into a strict label person?

I read somewhere that most food poisoning cases come from leftovers kept past the four day mark, so you are actually being smart about it. My own wake up call was a fuzzy lime in the back of my fridge, now I date everything with a Sharpie the day I cook it.
