Three week old leftover chili finally got its own science experiment

I found a container of chili shoved behind the mayo that I swear I labeled back on the 12th, so that's 22 days of questionable decisions. The smell was actually fine but the texture had this weird gray film on top, so I trashed it and bleached the whole shelf. Took me forever to realize I keep losing leftovers because I stash them in opaque containers, so now I'm using clear deli tubs from the 99 cent store. Anyone else have a system that finally cut down on the mystery food graveyard, or am I just slow at this?
