Unpopular opinion: freezer burn does not ruin food, the USDA number on that surprised me
Everyone in my house tosses anything with a little frost on it, but I looked it up on the USDA freezer page and freezer burn is just moisture loss, not spoilage. I found a 2019 USDA note saying frozen food kept at 0 F stays safe forever, the quality just drops, so that frosty pork chop from April is still fine to cook. I cut the gray spots off and made chili with it and nobody noticed. Does anyone else here keep the frosty stuff instead of pitching it?
