Traded my gas mower for a push reel mower 3 summers back
My lawn is only a quarter acre so I figured why not try it. First month was rough because the grass got too tall and I had to double cut, but now I just mow every 5 days and it's fine. Has anyone else made the switch and stuck with it or did you go back to gas?

Doesn't it feel like every "upgrade" we make just moves the headache somewhere else? I did the same thing with a push mower a few years back and I get what you're saying about the trade offs. Once you finally get used to mowing more often, it's a different kind of rhythm but you've basically swapped engine maintenance for keeping the blades sharp and timing your cuts. It makes me wonder if we're all just chasing a myth that there's one perfect setup that fixes everything without giving you something else to worry about.

Doesn't it seem like we're all just trading one kind of hassle for another, trying to find the perfect setup that saves us time? Idk, I feel like every modern convenience just comes with its own hidden cost you don't see until you're already in it.
