Missed a free throw in a church league game at 8 years old and I still think about it at the line
It was the First Baptist gym in Greeley, score tied at 14 with 2 seconds left. I bricked both shots and we lost by one, and my dad just said "shake it off" in the car. Now I shoot 50 free throws before every pickup game because I refuse to feel that again. Does anyone else have a random rec league loss that still messes with your head?
Does your dad even remember that game? I used to think stuff like this was just me being dramatic but then I heard a pro talk about how one bad moment can live in your head for years and it totally changed my mind. You're not crazy for shooting 50 free throws, you're just wired different now.
