Blew $90 on a fancy edge finder that barely works compared to my old $12 one

Picked up one of those digital edge finders from a tool truck thinking it would save time on setups. First job I used it on, it was off by almost 0.003 on a critical bore location. Went back to my beat up mechanical edge finder and the part came out perfect. Has anyone else had bad luck with the digital ones or did I just get a lemon?

Ha! I've got $90 worth of fancy frustration sitting in my drawer right now too. Mine's great for finding the edge of my coffee mug, not so much for actual machine work.
