Just swapped from a dull 1/2 inch end mill to a fresh one on the old Haas. Went from a rough finish to a mirror shine in one pass.

A fresh tool makes all the difference, but a mirror finish usually needs more than one pass.

Yeah, fresh tools are key for that final pass. Gotta sneak up on the last few thousandths with lighter cuts. Rushing it just leaves swirl marks no matter how sharp the tool is.
