The trick that got my group to actually read the rules beforehand
I've been running a weekly board game night for about 6 months now, and every time we'd spend the first 45 minutes reading instructions. It was killing the mood. So last month, I started sending a 3-bullet summary of the game's key rules in the group chat the night before. No links, no full PDFs, just the core stuff like how scoring works and what ends the game. It's not perfect but now we're actually playing by 7:15 instead of 8. Has anyone else found a way to get people to prep without sounding like a teacher?
