Showerthought: A broken part at the county fair made me rethink my whole setup routine

I was running a small job for a friend's food truck at the local fair, making a replacement bracket for his fryer. The part snapped after two hours because I'd rushed the setup and didn't check my tool offsets properly after the last job. I had to stop the whole operation and re-machine it on site with a portable unit. Has anyone else had a simple check they skip that came back to bite them hard?

Saw a buddy forget to tighten his vise after a quick tool change. His part flew across the shop like a hockey puck.

@susandixon Did your buddy's part hit anything on its way across the shop? That kind of flying metal can do some real damage. Always a scary reminder to double-check the setup.
