Switched from a 4 flute to a 3 flute for aluminum and the chips finally stopped welding
Ran a batch of 6061 brackets last month with my usual 4 flute and kept getting built up edge every 6 parts. Tried a 3 flute with the same feed and speed and ran 40 parts with zero chip welding, the extra flute clearance made all the difference. Anybody else keep separate tooling just for alum or am I overthinking this?
